We Got the Call - Caroline is a Big Sister!

This morning we woke up to the great news that we have been matched with our 2nd daughter...Caroline will be a big sister!  She turned 2 years old on April 1, 2010 which makes her 2 years and 5 months younger than her Big Sis!
Her Chinese name is Yu Jing Mei and she was born with cleft lip and palate.  She is currently in Yulin City Children's Welfare Institute in Shaanxi Province.  The information that we received said that she loves to take a bath...this sounds just like our Sweet Caroline!
She was also described as active and outgoing, has a ready smile, seldom cries, likes being cuddled by caretakers, likes the noisy atmosphere and playing with other children.  We think she will fit into our family perfectly!!
We showed Caroline her picture this morning and asked what she thought about her new baby sister.  Caroline said "She is perfect!  I can't wait to teach her how to play my Go Fish game."
Mommy and Daddy couldn't have said it better.
We will call our new baby "Kate" and we hope to travel to China to get her in 3 to 5 months.  I am so thankful for my faith in Christ and for the faith of our friends and family who have been praying for our little girl even before we knew her name.  Just as the Lord gave us a precious gift in Caroline, He has blessed us again with the beautiful gift of baby Kate. I love that He uses my children to draw me closer to Him!   It is so amazing to witness how God makes and grows families in so many different ways.
Sean and I were intentional about our desire to adopt through our agency's special needs program, yet there have been many unknowns throughout this 2+ year process.  We still have very limited information about our daughter, but I continue to go back to 2 Corinthians 12:9-10.
But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. 10That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Please continue to keep Kate, Caroline and our family in your prayers.
In Him,
Sally
